McDowell leads Karlsson after winning last three holes

Graeme McDowell is leading Robert Karlsson on the opening day of the Volvo World Match Play Championship in Spain.

After conceding two of the first three holes, McDowell has now won three holes in a row to lead Karlsson by one after 11 holes of their match.

Defending champion Ian Poulter has already won after beating Australia's John Senden 3&2 while Brandt Snedeker beat Thomas Bjorn 5&4.

Darren Clarke will begin his championship tomorrow when he takes on Robert Rock.
