Bogey means five-man play-off at Gleneagles

The Johnnie Walker Championship went into a five-man play-off at Gleneagles today after England’s Mark Foster, one ahead on the 18th tee, finished with a bogey six.

Driving into the trees led to Foster, without a win since 2003, falling to 11 under par alongside Dane Thomas Bjorn, Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal, Austrian Bernd Wiesberger and South African George Coetzee.

The only saving grace for Foster was the memory that his one previous European Tour victory came in a six-man play-off in South Africa – and he sank a 40-foot eagle putt on the second extra hole.
