Steady start as McIlroy maintains lead

Rory McIlroy remained six under par and three clear after three opening pars to his second round in the US Open at Congressional near Washington today.

Teeing off again just before 8am on a calm morning and a course further softened by heavy overnight rain, McIlroy found the left-hand rough at the 402-yard first.
