England’s Luke Donald was within touching distance of becoming world number one after beating German Martin Kaymer for the second time this year at the Volvo World Match Play Championship.

Donald, who defeated Kaymer 3&2 in the final of the Accenture Match Play in February, this time recorded a 5&3 victory in the semi-finals at Finca Cortesin in Spain.
