World number one Lee Westwood will now have to play former winner and former Ryder Cup teammate Henrik Stenson in the first round of the WGC-Accenture Match Play in Arizona on Wednesday – providing there are no more withdrawals.

As the top seed Westwood was all set to face Toru Taniguchi, but a neck injury has led to the Japanese player’s withdrawal and first reserve Stenson therefore comes into the 64-man field.

Stenson was the seventh seed at the tournament only a year ago, but lasted only one hole against American Ben Crane because of ’flu symptoms.

He won the title in 2007, beating Australian Geoff Ogilvy in the final, and reached the semi-finals the following season before losing to eventual winner Tiger Woods.
