A late rally from the International team kept the United States’ Presidents Cup lead at just one point heading into the weekend after the fourball matches in San Francisco.

Fred Couples’ USA team, who had led Greg Norman’s rest of the world side by 3.5 points to 2.5 following the opening day’s foursomes, finished the second day 6.5 to 5.5 in front.
