Maybin one shot off lead at Gleneagles

Gareth Maybin is in a tie for fourth place in the early stages of the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

Maybin carded a three-under-par 69 in his opening round to finish up one shot adrift of early leaders Gregory Havret, Steven O'Hara and Wade Ormsby.

Elsewhere, Gary Murphy and Damien McGrane were both one under par in the early stages of their rounds, while Peter Lawrie and Paul McGinley were level par after their first holes.

Shane Lowry and Jonathan Caldwell are due to tee off later.
