Seve Ballesteros underwent 12 hours of surgery yesterday to remove a brain tumour, it has been reported by Spanish sports newspaper 'Marca'.

Seve Ballesteros underwent 12 hours of surgery yesterday to remove a brain tumour, it has been reported by Spanish sports newspaper 'Marca'.

A biopsy on the tumour discovered last week after Ballesteros collapsed at Madrid Airport had been scheduled, but according to the report doctors decided to operate because of the seriousness of the situation.

The operation was reportedly “satisfactory” and the newspaper also added that Ballesteros’s ex-wife Carmen and their three children were at the hospital.
