Westwood: I wanted to play

Lee Westwood made no secret today of the fact that he did not want to be sitting on a buggy as the Ryder Cup continued at Valhalla this morning.

“It’s the Ryder Cup and I would play with my arm hanging off,” said Westwood, who along with Sergio Garcia was controversially omitted by Nick Faldo with Europe trailing by three points overnight.
