Shane Lowry's bid for a hat-trick of provincial titles ended in the South of Ireland Championship at Lahinch.

The reigning West and North of Ireland champion lost 3 and 2 to Lee Valley's Niall Gorey in this morning's fifth round.

Gorey plays Athlone's Kelan McDonagh in the first of this afternoon's quarter-finals with veteran Eddie Power taking on Irish Close champion Paul O'Hanlon.

Knock's Nicky Grant faces Irish international Niall Kearney with Californian Austin Graham taking on Aaron O'Callaghan of Douglas.
