Match play names field
Next week’s WGC Accenture match play will have a virtually full-strength field with all but one of the world’s top 64 confirmed to play.
Players had until 10pm to officially confirm their participation and only Brett Wetterich, ranked 45th, is absent with a shoulder injury.
The top seeds in each bracket are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker and Ernie Els – the leading four players in the world at the moment.
Els changed his mind about playing and will try to improve his dreadful record in the event in which he has suffered four first-round defeats.
American Arron Oberholser has confirmed despite having been a doubt while FBR Open champion JB Holmes, ranked 65th in the world, is the player to benefit from Wetterich’s absence.
The make-up of the four brackets – named after Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan, Gary Player and Sam Snead – will be announced on Sunday.
