Rookie American George McNeill claimed his maiden PGA Tour title with a four-shot victory at the Frys.com Open in Las Vegas.

The 32-year-old began the day with a five-stroke lead and he never looked like relinquishing that over the TPC Summerlin course.

McNeill, whose previous best was joint third at the Canadian Open, carded a five-under-par 67 to finish 23 under, with DJ Trahan only able to close the gap by one after he had a 66.

Mansfield’s Greg Owen shot a 69 to lift himself into a share of 30th on eight under and he was joined on that mark by Londoner Brian Davis, who had 68.
