Howell eyes K Club return

David Howell is now targeting next week’s European Open at The K Club for his comeback after missing not only the US Open, but also the French Open starting on Thursday because of a wrist injury.

The Ryder Cup hero has not played for over a month now, his last appearance lasting only a few holes before he withdrew from the Players Championship in Florida with back trouble.

That also kept him out of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth – where he would have defended his title – and after travelling back to the States hoping to return at Oakmont the wrist problem flared up after nine holes of practice.
