Clandeboye's Jonathan Caldwell made it a birthday to remember, finishing joint top at the Golfsure Irish Amateur Close at Cork yesterday.

The Walker Cup panellist shot a smashing round of 70 on his 23rd birthday to add to yesterday's record-equalling 67, finishing joint top with Richard Kilpatrick of Banbridge.
