Hall well and good in NI Ladies Open
England’s Lisa Hall defeated France’s Gwladys Nocera in an eight-hole play-off to claim her second Ladies European Tour victory in the Northern Ireland Ladies Open today.
Nocera and Hall finished regulation play tied on two-under-par after they both carded one-under-par 71s in the final round at Hilton Templepatrick Golf Club.
After playing the 470-yard par-five 18th-hole six extra times in pouring rain, followed by the 381-yard par-four first-hole as their seventh, neither player could be separated.
They carded four extra pars each, followed by a birdie each at the fifth extra hole and pars at their sixth and seventh attempts.
They then returned to the 18th tee to play their eighth extra hole – and their 26th hole of the day.
Nocera, a three-time winner on the LET last year, hit her second shot into the water hazard on the left side of the fairway.
She remained in the hazard after hitting her third shot and took three more to get down, resulting in a bogey.
Hall was on the green in three and eventually rolled in a four-foot birdie putt for victory.
