Back trouble returns for Woosnam
Ian Woosnam’s planned build-up to the US Masters in Augusta was disrupted by a back problem today.
Last year’s Ryder Cup captain, winner of the title in 1991, has played only three events this year and has missed the halfway cut in all of them.
It is also seven years now since the 49-year-old Welshman played all four rounds of the Masters.
He has battled with back trouble his entire career and suffers from the rheumatic spinal disease ankylosing spondylitis.
