Overnight leader Chapchai Nirat has opened up a six-shot lead at the halfway point of the tournament.

Frenchman Jean-Baptiste Gonnet, Argentina’s Rafael Echenique and Australian trio David Bransdon, Simon Nash and Adam Blyth sit six shots behind the leader, a shot clear of a group on 10 under.

France’s Francois Delamontagne is also on nine under after recording a stunning 10 under par second round, which included an incredible run of six consecutive birdies.

Lee Westwood carded a second round 70 to join Oliver Fisher, who shot a 69, on eight under.

Simon Hurd carded a second round 67 to edge inside the cut after moving to seven under following his opening round 71 and is joined by Simon Griffiths who moved to six under following a second round 70.

Ryder Cup-winning captain Ian Woosnam failed to build on his opening round 72 and despite carding a 71 around the Yalong Bay Golf Club today, followed his 2005 failure with another missed cut this time around.

Ireland's David Higgins trailed in 121st place on +2. Damian McGrane and Michael Hoey finished on -4, tied in 67th place.
