Curtis Cup returns to Nairn

Nairn Golf Club near Inverness will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012 by hosting the Curtis Cup, the biennial match in which the best women amateur golfers in Britain and Ireland take on the United States.

The course is the one on which the Americans suffered the first of three successive defeats in the men’s Walker Cup in 1999.

Next year’s Curtis Cup is also in Scotland at St Andrews and the 2010 contest is at the Essex club in Massachusetts. June 8-10 is the agreed date for Nairn’s staging of the match.
