Nairn Golf Club near Inverness will celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2012 by hosting the Curtis Cup, the biennial match in which the best women amateur golfers in Britain and Ireland take on the United States.

Britain and Ireland’s Walker Cup team, winners in America for only the second time in history, have overwhelmingly taken the Golf Writers’ Trophy for 2001.
