Padraig Harrington insisted his chances of winning the Order of Merit remained “a long shot” despite a superb third round in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Harrington carded a 68 at windswept Carnoustie to set the clubhouse target at 12 under par, while Wales’ Bradley Dredge was 13 under with three holes remaining at Kingsbarns.
