Woods defeated on the day for underdogs
Tiger Woods, unbeaten and at times seemingly unbeatable in his last five tournaments, was toppled on a day of upsets in the HSBC World Match Play Championship at Wentworth today.
The world number one, making his first appearance in the event since he lost the 1998 final to Mark O’Meara, went out four and three to another fellow American – this time Shaun Micheel, ranked 76 places below him.
