Little change in Ryder standings

It was a quiet weekend on the Ryder Cup front as most of the top contenders on this side of the Atlantic took a break from action for the Scandinavian Masters.

Ireland's Padraig Harrington and Paul McGinley, who were not in action at the weekend, hold their places in the automatic top ten for September's showdown at the K Club. Harrington lies seventh on the European Points List, with McGinley one place further back.

Darren Clarke has admitted he has no chance of making the ten automatic qualifying places so will be hoping to earn one of the two available wildcards.

Robert Karlsson continued his good form to consolidate his place with a 2nd place finish at the Scandinavian Masters.

Across the water, Tiger Woods consolidated his place at the top of the US Ryder Cup table with a win at the Buick Open - his 50th US Tour win.

Phil Mickelson is second, with Jim Furyk, who was runner up to Woods at the weekend, third.
