The biennial Curtis Cup match between Great Britain and Ireland and the United States will change to a three-day format in two years.

The decision was announced today after the 34th match ended on the Pacific Dunes course at Bandon, Oregon, with a 11.5-6.5 victory for America – their most convincing triumph since winning 14-4 at Somerset Hills, New Jersey in 1990.

The switch from a two-day match was approved at a joint meeting of the USGA women’s committee and the Ladies Union.
