No joy for McNamara at St George's
Hopes of an Irish winner in the British Amateur championship ended when Cian McNamara crashed out in the first round at Royal St George's.
The Limerick ace was the only Irish player to come through 36-hole qualifying but lost by 3 and 2 to American Stuart Moore.
Irish champion Rory McIlroy was forced to withdraw due to food poisoning during Tuesday's qualifier at Prince's.
