Courtdown eye clean sweep at Ladies Championship
Courtown will look to build on their success in the inaugural ‘AA Insurance Ladies Championship’, as the club looks to sweep the board in the all-important quarter-final stage of all four singles competitions.
The club faces strong opposition from Edenderry and Mullingar. Both clubs are enjoying similar levels of success and are through in three of the four singles competitions: Mullingar in the Minor, Intermediate and Challenge Cups and Edenderry in Junior, Challenge and Minor Cups.
Other key clubs to watch in the competition are Cill Dara, Castlecomer and Carlow, all of which are through in two quarter-final competitions.
The following eight teams will be competing in the quarter-finals on or before the June 12:
Courtown vWicklow, Blainroe v Kilkenny, Carlow v Edenderry, Tullamore v Roscrea
The following 32 clubs will be in contention in the quarter-finals on or before the June 12:
Kilkea Castle v Cill Dara, Mullingar v Moate, Castlecomer v Wexford, Arklow v Courtown
The eight teams teeing off for a place in the semi-finals are as follows:
Boystown v Tramore, Courtown v Gowran Park, Carlow v Cill Dara, Edenderry v Mullingar.
The winners from the following quarter-final competitions will secure a place in the semi-final by the June 12:
Athy v Rathdowney, Edenderry v Mullingar, Castlecomer v Rosslare, Coollattin v Courtown
The following clubs will be competing in the quarter-finals:
Carlow v Woodenbridge, Callan v Kilkenny, The Heath v Cill Dara, Tullamore v The Curragh
Wicklow v Coollattin, Rosslare v Mount Juliet, Gowran Park v Birr, Highfield v Moate.
