Garcia hopes for early birthday present

Sergio Garcia’s high hopes for 2006 are that he will finally end his long wait for a first major and help Europe to yet another Ryder Cup win.

But going into his first event of the season – the Mercedes Championship in Hawaii – the world number six has still not dismissed the possibility that he might ask Ian Woosnam to leave him out of his line-up for the K Club near Dublin in September.
