Monty recovers momentum

Defending champion Colin Montgomerie recovered from a run of three successive bogeys in his opening nine holes to remain just one shot off the lead at the TCL Classic in China.

The Scot, who needs to finish no lower than second to stand a chance of moving back into the world’s top 50 and therefore gain entry to the Masters, was one under par for the front nine at the Yalong Bay golf club in Sanya, Hainan Island.
