Appleby gaining momentum

Australian Stuart Appleby became the first player to break 70 as he moved into the lead after two rounds of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City.

The 33-year-old winner of this year’s Mercedes Championship had four birdies and just one bogey – on the par-four eighth – on his way to a 69.
