Els sees off Drummond challenge

Ernie Els moved a step nearer a record-breaking sixth World Match Play title this morning – but he will remember the battle Scotland’s Scott Drummond gave him.

The world number two, 116 places higher in the rankings than his opponent, won two and one after they resumed on the 35th hole, seven of the eight first round clashes being unable to finish yesterday after a two-and-a-half-hour rain delay.
