Mickelson confirms Scottish date

Masters champion Phil Mickelson has confirmed his participation in the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond Golf Club.

The American is set for another head-to-head clash at the July 8-11 event with Ernie Els after their thrilling finale in Augusta last weekend when Mickelson holed an 18-foot birdie putt to clinch the title.

Mickelson said: “I will return to this tournament, and expect to do so for many years. I love this place.

“It is a magnificent stage for a very important championship.”
