Jaidee nets shot award

Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee has won the Royal Bank of Scotland shot of the month award for February for his dramatic hole-in-one in the Carlsberg Malaysian Open.

Jaidee receives a trophy and £1,000 (€1,490) charitable donation for holing his six-iron tee shot on the 188-yard 16th hole at Saujana on his way to a first European Tour title.

“I could not have asked for a better shot at the right time,” said Jaidee, who was tied for the lead before his ace. “I knew it was good when it left the club but the result had an important role to play in the outcome of the tournament.”
