Miguel Angel Jimenez, second in the race for Europe’s Ryder Cup team, has missed out on vital cup points and almost certainly on a place in the Masters next month after being disqualified from the Qatar Masters today.

Jimenez, at six under par and only five shots behind leaders Raphael Jacquelin and Nobuhito Sato, was eliminated for signing for a wrong score just before he was due to tee off in the final round.
