Clarke defeated by Love at World Matchplay

Former champion Darren Clarke was a semi-final loser in the Accenture World Matchplay Golf Championship at Carlsbad, California last night.

The Dungannon pro went down on the third play-off hole in his overnight semi-final against Davis Love The Third.

Love now faces Tiger Woods in the final, after the world number one saw off Padraig Harrington

2-and-1 in the quarter-finals, and Stephen Leaney by the same scoreline in the semi-final.
