KLM fly to rescue of Dutch Open

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will return as the sponsor of the Dutch Open in 2004.

The tournament will have a prize fund of at least €1.2m and be played on August 5-8 at a venue to be announced.

This year’s event took place in October and had no main sponsor, the European Tour having to supply the €1m prize fund.

Maarten Lafeber became the first home winner in 56 years with a one-stroke victory over Sweden’s Mathias Gronberg and Denmark’s Soren Hansen.
