Six golfers for Euro Individual C'ship selected

The six players selected by the Golfing Union of Ireland to compete in the European Individual Championship, at Nairn Golf Club in Scotland on August 20-23, have been selected.

The six players selected by the Golfing Union of Ireland to compete in the European Individual Championship, at Nairn Golf Club in Scotland on August 20-23, have been selected.

They are: Noel Fox (Portmarnock), Mark O’Sullivan (Galway), Justin Kehoe (Birr), Brian McElhinney (North West), Gareth Maybin (Ballyclare) and Colm Moriarty (Athlone).

They will be bidding to emulate the feat of Hermitage’s Stephen Browne who won the title in Denmark in 2001, but who has since joined the professional ranks.

The only other Irish winner of the title was Paddy Gribben in 1998.
