Harrington faces Weir in World Matchplay

Victory in that encounter would set up a tussle with fellow Ryder Cup hero Sergio Garcia.

In other first round ties - Nick Faldo could set up a battle with his old sparring partner Ian Woosnam with victory over Michael Campbell of New Zealand.

Retief Goosen awaits the winner of the clash between Vijay Singh and Justin Rose - while Ernie Els will go up against either Colin Montgomerie or American Fred Funk.
