Colin Montgomerie got off to a poor start in the Scandinavian Open this morning, hooking his opening tee shot into the rough and being forced to chip out onto the fairway.

He was still behind Scott’s tee shot and could not save par, finding the green and taking two putts for a bogey five.

Wales’ Jamie Donaldson was the early leader after a rollercoaster start to his round, an eagle two on the 10th, his first, followed by a bogey five on the next and another two, this time a birdie, on the 12th.

It left the Macclesfield-based 26-year-old two under par, one ahead of a group of players including compatriots David Park and Mark Mouland.
