Golf: Harrington on course for clash with Clarke
Dublin's Padraig Harrington produced some blistering play to leave Nick Faldo needing a miracle in this afternoon's Cisco World Match Play championship first round clash at Wentworth.
Harrington reached the half-way point six up, after a first round 63. Faldo, who managed to win only two of the opening 18 holes, began with three successive bogeys.
And his round of 72, was the worst golf of the morning. A decade ago Harrington was one of the youngsters who attended a Faldo Master Class but he was the one handing out the lesson and birdies at the ninth and 10th put him on course for a quarter-final clash against fellow Irishman Darren Clarke.
