US Open: Harrington and Clarke should both make cut
Overwhelming pre-tournament favourite for the US Open competition at the
Southern Hills course in Oklahoma, Tiger Woods is struggling to make the
cut after his second round left him on five over par for the tournament.
The projected cut is expected to be six over par but there are still players
out on the course completing their rounds so it is not yet known if the
current holder of all four golfing majors will make it to the weekend.
Retief Goosen, Mark Brooks and JL Lewis lead the field on four under par
and they are followed by Sergio Garcia and Stewart Cink on two under.
Two of the other favourites for the tournament, David Duval and Phil Mickelson
are both well placed on one under par.
Of the Irish contingent in the field, Padraig Harrington is well placed after his two rounds on three under but Darren Clarke is one of the player's whose second round was delayed by the poor light.
