Golf: Delay doesn't bother Kiwi Campbell
Seven-hour rain delays clearly have no ill-effects on New Zealander Michael Campbell.
Campbell had to wait from 8.10am to 3.10pm to begin the Deutsche Bank-SAP Open in Heidelberg.
But when he did, Campbell fired a 10-under-par 62 in the race for the massive £278,000 first prize.
It shattered the St Leon Rot course record of 65 set by Nick Price two years ago, but with cleaning and placing allowed on the saturated fairways Price's round still stands for record purposes.
Woods and Montgomerie, meanwhile, overcame sticky starts to be part of the chasing pack on 69 and 70 respectively, but Clarke could never recover from double-bogeying two of his first three holes.
He returned a 76 and needs a dramatic improvement to survive the halfway cut.
Half the 156-strong field did not even make it onto the course because of the hold-up.
They will start tomorrow, while Campbell has to wait until 5.40pm to resume and therefore has no chance to finish his second round before Saturday.
