Singapore Masters: Singh weathers storm at Singapore
Fiji's Vijay Singh moved into a one-shot lead in the Singapore Masters after three rounds at the Singapore Island Country Club.
Frankie Minoza, leader after two rounds, faltered on the last hole, carding a bogey to finish 17 under par and losing the lead to Singh.
"I made a big mistake at the last hole," said Minoza.
"I thought it was 44 yards when it was actually 60 yards.
"That is why I came up short with my sand wedge."
But Minoza, who broke the course record a day earlier with a sparkling 61, is not dejected and has vowed to fight back in the final round on Sunday.
"We have 18 holes more to go and anything can happen. I have to go for it tomorrow, play aggressively and see what happens," he said.
Singh went back on the course with five holes to play after rain interrupted play for more than two hours.
He trailed by one shot until the 18th hole, where he shot a birdie in the failing light.
"It was a bit dodgy at the end. You couldn't judge the distance and couldn't see the how the ball was lying," said Singh. "But there was enough light."
Singh said he didn't consider not finishing despite the changed conditions.
