However there was little colour from Pádraig Harrington and Darren Clarke on the second day of the event at the Innisbrook Resort near Tampa.

Harrington posted rounds of 75 and 70 that included five birdies but eight bogeys while Clarke had rounds of 71 and 74 that included five birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey. Both faced an anxious wait before learning their three over par totals would be good enough to make the halfway cut and see them to the weekend.
