Death of Jim McKenna

The death has occurred, unexpectedly, of Jim McKenna, former Garda detective and a member of one of the country’s most esteemed golfing families.

The late Mr McKenna was 71. He served as a detective in Cork for many years and represented Muskerry Golf Club and the Munster senior team for many years. On retirement, he was appointed Secretary/Manager of Ballybunion Golf Club and continued the good work of his predecessor Sean Walsh in helping to develop the famous Kerry club into one of the most successful and respected in the world.
