Cork GC to honour McGinley

Cork Golf Club will confer honorary life membership on Paul McGinley in recognition of his appointment as the first Irish captain of the European Ryder Cup team at a presentation ceremony in Dublin this afternoon.

“Paul has been a regular visitor to our club both as an amateur and professional,” says Dave Prendergast, captain of the Cork club.

“He has spoken eloquently on several occasions of his admiration for the Little Island course where he competed in events like the South of Ireland Stroke Play Championship and later in the Motorola pro-am.
