Olazabal on course for A-list Ryder cast

FOUR months down, eight to go and Jose Maria Olazabal will be delighted how his Ryder Cup team is shaping up so far.

World top four Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy and Martin Kaymer are all in qualifying positions along with last year’s hero Graeme McDowell, England’s Justin Rose and Simon Dyson, as well as Spanish trio Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, Alvaro Quiros and Sergio Garcia.

Latest leading positions in the European Ryder Cup table (top 5 on European points list and top 5 not already qualified on the world points list) qualify on August 26. Captain Jose Maria Olazabal then adds two wild cards.
