DARREN CLARKE is to remarry after proposing to girlfriend Alison Campbell.

According to his management company ISM, the 42-year-old Clarke proposed to former Miss Northern Ireland, Alison Campbell, on Monday night and got the answer he was hoping to hear.

Clarke popped the question just before model agency boss Campbell, started her company’s festive celebrations in Belfast on Monday night.

It provides another winning match of sorts for Clarke’s countryman Graeme McDowell this year. McDowell set Clarke up on a blind date with Campbell.

Both are expected to spend Christmas with their families in Northern Ireland, where Clarke is now based since moving back home from London in August.

After a decade in London, Clarke set up home on the north coast and enrolled his two sons, Tyrone and Conor, in a local school. For the Dungannon man, the proposal marks a happy new chapter following the loss to breast cancer of his first wife, Heather, in 2006.
