Desmond forecasts frenetic Ryder finale

IRISH business tycoon, Dermot Desmond is heading to his 10th consecutive Ryder Cup next week predicting that the title could be decided by the final singles match on Sunday.

Desmond attended his first Ryder Cup in 1991 at Kiawah Island and travels to Celtic Manor on a first-name basis with all but a handful of players and backroom staff on both the European and American sides.

“The American team is very strong and can’t be underestimated,” said Desmond who is partnering Paul McGinley and this week’s pro-am Vivendi Cup
