Feherty feeling for fallen idol Woods

CBS and Golf Magazine analyst David Feherty, pictured, said yesterday he wasn’t surprised Tiger Woods is having issues.

Feherty feeling for fallen idol Woods

“I’ve been through a divorce. It’s the most stressful time of your life,” Feherty said. “It destroyed my life. It ended my career.”

Feherty, however, isn’t surprised that Woods is still playing. “Maybe he feels the golf course is the only place he has some kind of control,” Woods said.

Feherty said that Woods’ injury could have something to do with his swing. “When Tiger hits it a lot harder, there’s an enormous difference,” Feherty said.

“It looks like he could have injured every part of his body when he does that.”

Feherty thinks any allegations Woods used performance-enhancing drugs are “garbage”.

Feherty said he’s seen Woods work out and it’s no accident he’s bulked up. The Irishman said that some players might say those kind of things because they’re jealous of Woods.

He also said that some players are jealous of how much time Phil Mickelson spends with people in the gallery.

Feherty is also frustrated by analysts wanting to know every detail of Tiger’s personal life. “I don’t know where that sense of entitlement comes from,” Feherty said.

He said the best thing for Woods to do is get away from the game. “I would love to see him take time off and forget about it,” Feherty said.
