The Daly Show gets in full swing for Irish Open

WHO could have imagined a month or so ago that John Patrick Daly, of all people, might ride to the rescue of this week’s 3 Irish Open at Baltray, Co Louth?

Banned last November for six months in his native United States for a series of ongoing breaches of rules, etiquette and behaviour, the ‘Wild Thing’ used his membership of the European Tour to come this side of the world to try and get his career back on track.

And to his credit, he has been doing just that. He has stayed off the booze and away from the betting shops and found a way of shedding about three stone in weight, most of it off his midriff, using some sort of modern surgical contraption.
