Small leap up rankings for Lee

LEE WESTWOOD’S third place finish in the US Open has moved him up only three places on the world rankings from 20th to 17th.

Sergio Garcia is back as Europe’s top-ranked player at sixth, one spot ahead of Justin Rose, while Tiger Woods reached 500 weeks as number one.

Before going to Torrey Pines, 45-year-old Rocco Mediate stood 158th. Matching Woods’s one under par total propelled him more than 100 places.
